Kampala City Council Authority Football Club (KCCA FC) have picked a vital away point after drawing 2-2 aganist Zambian giants, Nkana Red Devils in the first round of the 2014 Orange Caf Champions league match played at Arthur Davies stadium, Kitwe, Zambia.
Tony Odur gave KCCA FC a lead in 26th minute before Salim Jamal came to a rescue in 39th minute after saving Ronald Kampamba's penalty.
One minute later, Ronald Kampamba who had missed a penalty, equalised for Nkana with a shot outside 18 yard box.
After four minutes at the start of second half, Shadrack Musonda gave the hosts a lead to make it 2-1.
Pressure mounted for KCCA FC after Tom Masiko was shown red card for a second yellow card booking. Fortunately, Brian Majwega equalised for the visitors with a well converted penalty in 73rd minute.
George Nsimbe was forced to substitute right fullback Sakka Mpiima for Hakim Senkumba and later Habib Kavuma was forced off through injury for Ibrahim Ayub Kizza.
The result means that KCCA FC needs a goalless draw, 1-1 or a win in the return leg to make it through to the second round where they will meet either Zamalek of Egypt or Angola's Kabuscorb.
The return leg will take place this Saturday, March 8 at Mandela National Stadium, Namboole.
