Abraham Byandala is a free man!
Anti-corruption High Court judge Lawrence Gidudu has relieved by acquitting the former minister of Works and Transport minister on counts of Abuse of office and disobedience of lawful orders from the IGG Irene Muloni.
However, three of Byandala’s colleagues have been convicted over the twenty four billion Kyetume-Katosi road scam.
Joe Ssemugooma, Marvin Baryaruha and Isaac Mugote are the other three accused.
Baryaruha, the former UNRA legal counsel, has also been acquitted of the charges.
But Ssemugooma, who was the director of finance at UNRA at the time, has been found guilty of abuse of office for failing to verify security bonds.
