Social Media has morphed into a strong marketing medium in this decade; thanks to the technology advancement that brought about the digital era. Consequently, businessmen, including performing artists, who had to market their art on mainstream media like TVs, radios and billboards now are aiming at growing their  presence on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram and while at it, get themselves the blue badge/tick that implies verification: to curb fake news. The list hereon, is of the celebs who got that little blue check mark next to their Instagram names:

Eddy Kenzo(@eddykenzo)

The BET Award Winner, Edrisa Musuuza, with 462k+ insta followers, is one of the biggest Ugandans on social media, and him getting verified, not only on Instagram but on each of the big 3 platforms is not much of the shocker.

A Pass(@iamapass)

He understood the power of social media right at the dawn of his musical career. A Pass started doing live Facebook streams way before most celebs knew it would give them any mileage and hey, they are now all wondering how a clown like Bagonza could be verified on Insta, Twitter and Facebook when they who feel they are bigger than him(in size too) aren’t.

Radio and Weasel(@radioandweasel)

The dynamic duo, just like they are adoringly called, got a shocker when one of the members Radio had a sudden death, but they had already made a name for themselves all over the world to deserve the recognition of getting verified.

Pallaso(@pallasomusic)

Since his return from the US with hitsong Amaaso featuring Radio and his brother Weasel, Pius Mayanja has never looked back, and this seduced the people at 1 Hackerway to give him the blue badge.

Cindy Sanyu(@cindysanyu)

Arguably the best female dancehall artist Uganda has ever had, Cinderella Sanyu has managed to collaborate with international acts like P Square and Mr. G ever since breaking off RnB girl group Blu 3. Her clout is not doubted.

Zari Hassan(@zarithebosslady)

Even though the biggest percentage of her 4.2 Million followers is not Ugandan, Zari is the most followed Ugandan on Instagram, and one of the most followed women in Africa. Her blue badge came after she had already passed the 1 Million mark.

Anita Fabiola(@AnitahFabiola)

This curvaceous Tv Star is proof that verification on social media is much about good management and organization. As genuinely famous people like Jose Chameleon still just dream about getting verified, the kissable-lipped slay queen lives the dream.

SK Mbuga(@sk_mbuga)

Sulaiman Kasambula Mbuga, together with Zari, are the only notable socialites that make the list. SK has heavily invested in social media and it is just fair that he gets the fruits.
