Ugandan goalkeeper Mathias Kigonya has joined Kakamega Homeboyz barely two months after the custodian terminated his contract with Sofapaka.

The diminutive keeper joined Homeboyz on a short-term deal after he penned a one-year contract with the side.

Kigonya, who had three years stint with Batoto Ba Mungu, before he fell out of favour with Elly Kalekwa owned side, after both parties failed to agree on a new deal, became the fourth signing for Homeboyz this season. Other new catches include Luke Namanda, Sosthenes Idah and David Odhiambo.

The former Sofapaka skipper linked up with his new colleagues in training session on Thursday.

Kigonya played for Bright Stars and was part of the KPL All-Stars team that traveled to Spain for exhibition matches against Cordoba and Sevilla Atlético in 2017.
