Uganda 1-0 Cape Verde

Uganda Cranes have qualified for the 2019 African Nations Cup edition that will take place in Cameroon after defeating Cape Verde 1-0 at Mandela National Stadium – Namboole this evening.


KCCA FC striker, Kaddu Patrick Henry’s header in 78th minute was enough for Cranes to seal the qualification for a second time in a row following the 2017 edition that took place in Gabon.

Before the 2017 edition, Uganda had spent 39 years without playing in the African Nations Cup.

1-0 win means Uganda tops Group L with 13 points, followed by Tanzania 5, Cape Verde 4 and Lesotho at the bottom with 2. But Lesotho hosts Tanzania tomorrow at 5pm.
