Police have finally let the cat out of the bag on their bus that disappeared over the weekend.

The Director Logistics and Engineering Geoffrey Bangirana, announced on December 24th that the bus registration number UP 5484, had disappeared.

Patrick Onyango, the deputy police national spokesman told Galaxy FM website that the driver Godfrey Mwase had driven it to his village for Christmas.

Onyango revealed: “The driver had just driven it to the village to enjoy Christmas with it and show off to village mates.”

He added: “The driver was carrying out personal errands, far from what duty called him to do. And he has been arrested and bus impounded. He will accordingly be investigated.”

On the charges, Onyango said: “The driver will be charged with disobedience of lawful orders before our disciplinary court.”
