CAF CONFEDERATIONS CUP
Vipers SC 0-0 Sfazien (Tunisia)
Vipers SC have a mountain to club after playing a barren draw in the first leg of the CAF Confederations Cup with Tunisia giants Sfaxien at St. Marys Stadium in Kitenda Saturday afternoon.
Vipers SC had the game in their hands with a lion’s share of the spoils on the pitch but could not convert a goal to simply win the away trip in Tunisia.
The Venoms found themselves with a golden opportunity earlier on in the first half when Noah Wafula brought down near the opposition goal area but Moses Waiswa failed to connect home.
Then Ibrahim Kiyemba bombed forward from the right back position and whipped a pass to Waiswa who again saw his curling effort tipped away by the visitor’s goalkeeper.
Attempts to refresh the team by deploying Brian Nkuubi for Bashir Asiku, Abraham Ndugwa for Noah Wafula and Davis Kasirye for replaces Tito Okello did not merit as the game ended without a goal.
