Vipers SC coach Micheal Nam Ouma named a strong team to face Club Sportiff Sfaxien of Tunisia in the Total CAF Confederation Cup play off return leg scheduled on Sunday 20th January, 2019 at the Tareb Mhiri stadium.

A 25 man delegation comprising of 17 players and 8 officials led by Fufa executive member Rogers Byamukama departed tyesterday morning at 04:55am aboard Turkish Airlines flight to Istanbul from where the team will connect to Tunis.

The playing staff led by captain, Tadeo Lwanga includes two goalkeepers, five defenders, six midfielders plus four strikers who are duty bound to die a little for the club flag and the nation at large.

Left back Yayo Lutimba misses the trip through suspension so is Bashir Sekagya who is still nursing an injury sustained while in Algeria against CS Constantine while Davis Kasirye, Rahmat Ssenfuka, Joseph Janjali and Noah Wafula despite making the last trip, have all been dropped.

The team is expcted to touch down in Tunisian capital today at 1:35pm. The Venoms are scheduled to board a domestic flight to their final destination in Sfax town which is approximately 200kms from Tunis.

Vipers requires a win of any kind or a scoring draw to qualify for the group stages for the first time in the club history, the first leg played on Saturday ended in a goalless draw.

An advance team is already in Sfax to prepare for the team’s arrival, hotel bookings and do all the necessary requirements ahead of the do or die engagement.

Steven Mukwala travels to play away for the first time after he failed to make the mark for El Merriekh and CS Constantine trips thus if fielded, the youthful striker wil l make his debut appearance for the club in the CAF inter club competition.

Fabien Mutombora despite starting at home last Saturday against the Tunisian side, travels with the Venoms for the first time as the shot stopper missed the last two away games through injury.
