Mbarara-based, Nyamiyobora FC have appointed Alex ‘Trezguet’ Musongola Isabirye as their new technical director on a three year contract.

Isabirye who has been managing FUFA Big League out fit Kyetume FC, quit after guiding the Mukono-based club to quarter finals of Uganda Cup following a 1-0 away win over Kitara FC at Kigaya on Sunday.

He replaces Asaph Mwebaze who resigned last week following a 2-0 loss over Express FC at Kakyeka Stadium.

Nyamityobora has confirmed the development in a press release.

“We are pleased to have reached
an understanding with Alex Isabirye. He was with us in the Big League and it is the solid
foundation he laid that earned us promotion. We are the biggest team with the most loyal fans
in Western Uganda and we believe he is the right person to ensure our fans are happy.” Nyamityobora patron, Ali Ssekatawa commented:

Isabirye holds CAF ”A” licence and will be assisted by Juma Ssekiziyivu who has been the interim trainer since Mwebaze’s untimely departure.

He finds Abanyakare in unwanted 15th position, having managed just three wins in 19 matches with 3 draws and 13 losses.

This is the second stint at Nyamityobora having coached the club while still in FUFA Big League in 2018 and left For Soana (now Tooro United).

Alex Isabirye’s match will be against Paidha Black Angels on Thursday at the Bar Okoro Stadium in Zombo.
