URA FC 2-0 Kirinya-Jinja

Shaffik Kagimu made sure URA FC collected all three from their daunting affair against battling Kirinya-Jinja SS FC at Mandela National Stadium, Namboole.

The win lifts Sam Ssimbwa’s side to the fourth behind KCCA, Vipers and Mbarara City while skipping Onduparaka and BUL FC.

Kagimu opened the floodgates as early as the 3rd minute when he tapped home a Kirinya-Jinja goalkeeper Rubangakene’s punch when he dailed to deal with Joachim Ojera’s fierce shot.

Ssimbwa did not wait for the referee’s halftime whistle to bring the game to an end by bringing on Vitalis Tabu on for Cromwell Rothomio.

The return from the halftime break saw URA FC pounce on the visitor’s with a second goal from the same man Kagimu who doubles as the team captain in the 49th minute.

Kirinya-Jinja SS had a number of raids after URA FC’s goal with Joel Madondo connecting a cross from the left but he was unlucky to see James Alitho direct it into a corner kick.

Ssimbwa deployed Sseruyidde Moses in place of Said Kyeyune to help ease the pressure he was facing in the midfield.
