After their successful show early last year, the dynamic comedy duo of Madrat &
Chicco –real names Dickson Lubega and Frank Mubiru– have been on a roll, with
their comedy acts and shows growing by the number.

And by the time next week starts, the profile of the ever-improving duo will have
risen a notch higher, for the comic pair is set to headline performances at the
prestigious Singleton challenge slated to take place at Entebbe Golf Club this

The duo will be the lead entertainers for golfers and guests at the exclusive 19 th Hole
Experience at the Entebbe Club –and you can be sure that after the golfers are done
with Round two of the challenge on the greens, they will have to laugh their
stomachs out.

Madrat and Chicco will not be the only comedians in the house; they will be
performing alongside famed President Museveni imitator Teacher Mpamiire, as well
as the event’s host Patrick Salvador Idringi.

When asked about how they are able to communicate at corporate events, given
they came through the ranks as a primarily downtown comedy outfit, the duo were
candid in their inevitably funny way:
“There is a saying that ‘desperate situations call for desperate measures.’ We didn’t
complete school and truth be told, our English is not the best, but we will speak it
when we have to. At most corporate events, we are pushed to the wall, but at the
end of the day we come out of it and smile all the way to the bank. People should
expect the best”.
The grand prize for the winning pair of this year’s Singleton Challenge is a fully-paid
golfing trip to watch the OMEGA Dubai Desert Classic, a series which has featured
some of golf’s best players, including Tiger Woods and Henrik Stenson.
There will also be business class return air-tickets for the first and second runner-
up pairs, and for the winners of the subsidiary events in the men’s and ladies’
categories. Other prizes include monthly subscription packages on DStv, treats at
Serena Hotel, golf accessories and HTC goodies.
