Busoga’s reigning monarch, His Majesty William Gabula Nadiope,IV on Wednesday graced the Uganda-French Defence day at the Nakasero residence of the outgoing French Ambassador to Uganda, Her Excellency Stephanie Rivoal. The day is aimed at strengthening defence ties between the two countries militarily among others.

Flanked by the Chief of Defence Forces, Gen. David Muhoozi and first son, Lt. Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, the networked 4th King of Busoga was a special guest of the diplomat.

In her remarks, the ambassador thanked the Kyabazinga for sparing time off his busy schedule to be part of the weeklong activities.

“In our midst is the King of Busoga. It’s a privilege to have him among us. As an embassy, we treasure culture so much”, she said revealing that the good working relationship that exists between Uganda and France must continue even after her tour of duty in Uganda.

Relatedly, Gen. David Muhoozi commended the French government for its continued support to all the armed forces but mostly UPDF that has seen it offer several services not only in the region but across the continent.

The Kyabazinga was later treated to cultural ballads by the UPDF troupe whose cultural punctuated melodies kept the monarch happy all through before his departure. The French team also entertained the King.

Her Excellency Stephanie Rivoal ends her tour of duty soon.

She too was the Kyabazinga’s special guest at the 2018 4th Coronation Anniversary held at Bugweri District Headquarters.
