Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus will hold talks over a €80million (£73m) deal for Paulo Dybala this week.

Dybala’s agent, Jorge Antun, will meet with PSG sporting director Leonardo to thrash out a deal with the French giants desperate to get a deal done sooner rather than later.

Leonardo would like to close a deal by Wednesday and the need for a new star name in the French capital was made clear by PSG’s defeat to Rennes in Ligue 1 on Sunday night.

It remains to be seen whether Juventus will accept the terms being offered by the French giants and could even hold out for a fee in the region of €100m (£91m).

Juventus chief Fabio Paratici is desperate to offload Dybala so he can then use the money to sign Inter Milan striker Mauro Icardi before the European transfer window closes in the coming weeks.

Dybala’s exit would also free up the No 9 jersey for Icardi, who has refused to consider the prospect of moving anywhere but Turin this summer.

The Argentine was linked with Manchester United and Tottenham this summer but a move to the Premier League failed to materialise.

Dybala turned down a move to United with reports saying they would not meet his wage demands, and it later emerged that it may have been down to his image rights.

They were owned by a third party, and United were unwilling to pay the £15million demand by his agent to negotiate the rights.

Spurs meanwhile had agreed a £69million deal with Juventus for the Argentine, but faced similar issues over image rights and encountered fears from the Turin club that they would not find a replacement.
