John Odumegwu and Mustafa Kizza’s late goals helped KCCA to continue their winning ways as they defeated Maroons Fc 3-1 at the Prison Grounds, Luzira on Tuesday.

KCCA were  slightly the better side on the day, although they were lucky to have the major refereeing decisions go their way in a very entertaining end to end game as Maroons gave the champions a run for their money.

Th Kasasiro boys had the first shot at goal inside the seventh minute. Mike Mutyaba delivered a teasing cross into th box, but Simon Serunkuuma failed to connect well, placing the header just wide.

Moments later, youngster Sadat Anaku saw his shot well matched by the Maroons shot stopper.

With half an hour played, KCCA goalkeeper Charles Lukwago was called into action as he pulled off a top-notch diving save to superbly keep out Steven Mukwala’s effort.

With three minutes to the half time break, Sulaiman ‘Mike’ Mutyaba put the visitors into the lead, tapping in from close range from Samuel Kato’s low cross.

Mutyaba almost doubled KCCA’s lead with a clever job from 40 yards, but th keeper tipped it onto the crossbar before the ball fell behind for a corner.

Th hosts found the equalizer in the 68th minute through Solomon Walusimbi’s strike.

Mustafa Kizza stepped up to burry the ball into the far-left corner to give KCCA the advantage, with Maroons players left disgusted.

KCCA extended their advantage in added time, Odumegwu scored his maided goal for the club and in superb fashion from Erisa Ssekisambu’s pass, as he sealed three points for his side.

KCCA no climb on fifth on the log, with 13 points from seven games, seven points behind log leaders Vipers. Maroons fall to nineth on the table level on points with KCCA but with a less goal difference.
