CAF Confederation Cup elimination is a blessing in disguise for KCCA Fc according to coach Mike Hillary Mutebi.

KCCA Fc bundled out of Confederation Cup with a 4-1 aggregate loss to Algeria’s Paradou Fc to miss out on group stages.

The tactician described the club’s failed continental campaign as a disaster because they had raised the bar high for themselves in the past.

However, Mutebi believes that the elimination has also helped KCCA Fc more space to focus on the league and forthcoming Uganda Cup.

The league’s defending champions are just three points adrift of relegation zone but have failed only seven games, five less than most of other teams.

“Paradou was a better side,” Mutebi reflected. “We had our chances but failed to use them. I also have to say that the referee was not on our side. Many decisions went against us.”

“We have so many games in hand and i blame Uganda Premier League for these unnecessary rescheduling but we are now back and we have to shift our attention to defending our title. We have enough time to focus on the league which we could not do while in CAF competitions.”

“My young players have also gained enough exposure and experience from these continent games and i believe that it has added alot to their CV.”
