Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) exams commenced countrywide on Monday 11th November despite a long morning downpour.

Most of the headteachers and UNEB officials reported at Jinja Road Police Station to pick up the exams slightly after 8:00 am because of the early morning rains.

Jennifer Kalule, the UNEB Spokesperson, says dispensing examinations is one of the biggest challenges during their examination period.

She says that with the problem of prolonged traffic, Kampala is treated as a ‘rural area’ and they always give them more time.

Executive Secretary Mr. Daniel Odongo warned candidates must against engaging in examination malpractice during the whole examination period.

He said UNEB has employed over 800 scouts and deployed security officers countrywide to minimize cases of Examination Malpractice.

Polly Namaye the Uganda Police Spokesperson also warned that Police and security officials are keen on the ground to arrest anyone found selling fake examination papers or engaging in any form of malpractice.
