Ssenyondo handled the team’s training on Monday in Mbarara in wake of Paul Nkata sacking.

Nkata who had replaced Ssenyondo, parted ways with the Ankole Lions after a 3-0 loss away to Bul Fc to leave the side winless in last six league games.

Ssenyondo has been reappointed on an interim and has a chance to impress but the club is in talks with Wasswa Bbosa and Livingstone Mbabazi.

Coach Mbabazi has reportedly agreed to join Mbarara City after he was spotted with Mbarara City club president Hon. Maine Mpaka on Monday in Kampala.

The Caterpillars who will be without Mbabazi as he traveled with the Uganda Cranes team to Burkinafaso, are confident after beating Kyetume 7-1 in their last encounter.

“We have prepared well for this game knowing that if we get the result we want it will push us to finish first round on high rate which something we are looking uoto,” says Onduparaka captain Wahab Gadaffi.

“We beat Kyetume 7-1 but that is now past. This is a different opponent and we aee away. We are just hoping for the best.”

Mbarara Cit under Ssenyondo beat Onduparaka 2-0 in the Pilsner Super 8 before the start of this season. Paul Mucurezi and Jasper Aheebwa were on target at Kabaka Kyabaggu stadium in Wakiso.

Last season, Onduparaka won 2-1 in Kakyeka. Hilary Mukundane put the Ankole Lion in the lead but goals from Rashid Toha and Caesar Okhuti saw the visitors turn tables.

The Ankole Lions finished 5th last season, as they lie 13th on the log separated by only a better goal difference from the relegation zone as they are level on points with 14th placed Bright stars.

On the other hand, the Caterpillars are pretty much title contenders this season. They are fourth on the log, seven points behind leaders Vipers Sports Club.

Gadaffi Gadinho who is yet to get rolling at Mbarara City since his transfer from Onduparaka will come against his former teammates.

Jamal Malish and Julius Malingumu both grabbed hatricks in their previous game against Kyetume and will be key for the Caterpillars again.
