Police has established the decaying body of a student of of Tororo Technical Institute that drowned in October.
The body of as Stephen Enapat Junior a resident of Kipiriyo North Zone in Mollo Sub County in Tororo District was recovered on Sunday at Kataboi-Akolodong in Malaba, over the 4 km stretch of Malaba River.
Enapat Junior, a second year student of construction reportedly drowned while swimming in the fast flowing river Malaba.
The protracted search for the Enapat’s missing body had raised suspicion among his relatives who thought he had instead been kidnapped and his drowning was a disguise by the school authorities.
Daniel Mwesigwa, the Principle Tororo Technical Institute, this news comes as a relief to the entire staff, students and management of the institute including the community and friends.
The deceased’s mother, Ruth Among Olowo, says her entire family are uniformly reassured by the development as they are now certain of how he died.
