Kenya Premier League side Sofapaka fc have released four Ugandan players ahead of the mid season transfer window that opens in January.

The four include Uganda Cranes goalkeeper Ismail Watenga who has been the club’s first choice custodian ahead of Richard Aimo and Isaiah Wakasala.

Midfielder Mohamed Kasirye and defenders Allan Katwe and Musa Malunda are the other players shown the exit door four months after joining the Batoto Ba Mungu side.

These four Ugandans were signed in August but have been seen as surplus to requirements by the headcoach John Baraza who took charge of the club in November.

Former URA Fc forward Peter Lwasa remains the other Ugandan player at the 2009 Kenya Premier League Champions.

Sofapaka sit eighth on the Kenya Premier League table with 21 points accumulated from 13 games. They are seven points behind leaders Gormahia.
