Arua based Muni University participated in the competition last season at the preliminary stage but this has since been scrapped with twenty teams now competing in the group stages a move that was welcomed by the team manager, Opio Washington.

“We are happy with the new format of the competition because it means that we get to play more games and thereby develop our players and our team,” Opio said.

For Bugema University, lifting the trophy is the objective this season and they will be keen to avoid defeat in Arua.

“It is true that some universities wanted my services but as you can see iam still with Bugema and our objective this season is to lift the trophy. Last season we finished third but this time round we are going all the way to the finals and lifting the trophy.” Nyanzi said.

It should be remembered that Nyanzi had been rumoured to have left the institution for another university but he dispelled the rumors.
