Busitema University were winners on match day one after beating former champions Uganda Martyrs University 1-0 at home.

The result sees International University of EastAfrica top the table a position that Latin Dennis is to keep.

“It is still too early to be excited about the position on the table but obviously we are happy to be on top and we want to remain their,” Latin said.

Busitema University coach Muganga Stanley is similarly confident ahead of the game after a late 83′ goal by Isaac Mukuba saw his side secure all three points against UMU.

“It was a tough game against UMU and we were happy with the result. It was our first game and we were not fully prepared but we did play well managing to hold off UMU and when we got our chance we took it.” Muganga said.

In the next fixtures, Kyambogo University will host Mbarara University of Science and Technology and University of Kisubi hosting Kabale University.
