With no doubt former Uganda Cranes captain and defender, Andy Mwesigwa is not technically gifted but his love for the game is undisputed. Discipline and resilience pushed him to greater heights and achieved what most Ugandan footballers have failed to achieve.

Mwesigwa played for Villa SC ( 2002–2005), IBV (2006–2009), Chongqing Lifan (2010), Ordabasy (2011–2014), Yenicami Agdelen (2015–2016) and Sai Gon (2016).

He also played 78 games for Cranes, scoring eight goals in the process. He captained Cranes from 2008-2015 after taking over the arm-band from Ibrahim Ssekagya.

Life after football has not ben easy for many Ugandans and some have reorted to public help whenever they get problems say, health or financial.

This won’t be a case for Andy Mwesigwa. He has invested in rentals, built a school in Wakiso.
