Belgium giants, Standard Liege, have agreed to send Farouk Miya to Sabail FK in Azerbaijan on a short-term loan move.
The club announced the developments on Thursday evening through their official portal and social media sites.
“Our young Ugandan offensive midfielder is on loan to the Azerbaijani club without purchase option until the end of this season,” the club’s statement partly reads.

Miya joined Standard Liege in January 2016 in a six-month loan agreement from Vipers SC. He was later signed permanently in a US$ 400,000 deal for three years. He struggled to break into the team’s first squad and was later sent on loan to Mouscron for the first part of 2017 before returning.
Sabail FK is a club currently featuring in the Azerbaijan Premier League. The club was founded two years ago and play their home games at the 5,000-seater Bayil Arena in Bayil in the capital Baku.
The club currently sits in the sixth position in the eight-team league with 14 points from 15 games.
