Gen. Edward Kale Kayihura was the centre of attention at the Police headquarters in Naguru when he arrived for the handover ceremony on a wet Thursday morning.

Gen. Kayihura was dismissed last week by President Yoweri Museveni after 13 years as police chief and replaced by his deputy Okoth Ochola in a mini reshuffle which also saw Lt. Gen. Henry Tumukunde fired as security minister.

The former police chief arrived with pomp though with less security personnel for the exercise.

Gen. Kayihura did not slip into his famous grey and dark blue police outfit but instead arrived donning decorated army attire for generals.

The general wearing a smile on his face stormed the police press room in green colours with red and gold.

However, Gen. Kayihura who has been at the fore front for a decade shied away from the cameras as he made his way into the press room where the handover was conducted.

He kept his hands at the cameras to try and keep them away from his face.

General Kayihura handed over office to Ochola in the presence of Minister of Internal Affairs Gen. Jejje Odongo and his junior minister Obiga Kania.

Gen. Kayihura has served at URA and in DR Congo and joined NRA in 1982.
