One would be not be faulted for mistaking the name Moses Golola for Ugandan kickboxing. He is virtually the game’s everything; lead fighter, promoter, publicist, entertainer, talent developer name it.

Like many before him, national kickboxing title holder Abu Kikenwa, detests the notion that Golola, his former sparring partner, is ‘Mr Kickboxing’ and wants to prove many wrong when he steps in the ring on Saturday night at Freedom City.

Thanks to fight promoter Malik Kaliisa, the pre-match promotion has been top notch with the two fighters once trading blows live on TV.

“I have come to change kickboxing from the comedy path Golola put it on. To change the new leadership, you must have the security, I have kicks to floor him,” Kikenwa vowed. He has professionally fought 17 times with one loss and 15 knockouts.

Never short on comical exclamations, Golola, bidding to complete his Shs3bn kickboxing academy in Kawempe before retirement, laughed off Kikenwa’s challenge.

“I’m going to beat him from the stigma to the anthers. I’m still the undisputed leader of Ugandan kickboxing,” boasted the East and Central kickboxing champion.

“Fans have been asking me for something new, I’m giving them by breaking Kikonwa (he meant Kikenwa) bit by bit. No knocking out but teaching him why I’m the best.”

“I will just look at that Baby Ndunya and he gets pregnant.I will feed him with Big Pig,” Golola sarcastically stated at the weigh in session at Africell Offices on Friday.

Golola, whose latest victory was against Hungarian Janos Lakatos, has notable victories over Titus Tugume and Ronald Mugula and boasts of 22 wins, 13 KOs and three losses in his decade long career. Worth noting is that whereas Golola has silenced all local based contenders, he has struggled against foreigners particularly Andreas Nagy, Mate Zsamboki and Richard Abrahams.

Kikenwa promised to send Golola to join comedian Mariach and Amooti because to him it is where he belongs.

The undercard bout between Sharif ‘General’ Bukenya and Shakey Mubiru also promises to be thrilling.
