Gen. Mugisha Muntu has reserved special praise to former Leader of Opposition Winnie as he broke his silence on the conversation in the party about the reshuffle in the Parliament opposition leadership.

FDC President, Patrick Oboi Amuriat, announced a surprise reshuffle that left many in Muntu’s camp, led by Winnie Kiiza, axed.

Gen. Muntu in a report he released Thursday, hailed Winnie Kiiza in a special way and her team.

The former FDC President stated: “Hon. Winnie Kiiza took over the LOP post at a time when many questioned the importance of it.”He said: “With great poise and charisma, she rallied opposition MPs around common goals and goals. ”

Gen. Muntu added: “Her leadership has without doubt been the most successful when it comes to bringing together members of various political parties, including those in the ruling party bold enough to stand for the people.”

He further stated: “As the first woman to occupy this position post Independence, Hon. Kiiza has not only demonstrated to Ugandans the capacity women have to govern well, but also proof that our country is not short of able, democratic and people-centred leaders. Thank you Winnie for your hard work and service.”

On the other officials who served in his term, he hailed: “To Hon. Cecilia Ogwal, Hon Ssemujju Nganda, Hon. Reagan Okumu, Hon. Abdu Katuntu, Hon. Angelina Ossege, Hon. Gerald Karuhanga and Hon. P.P. Okeen, I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude for all your hard work and contributions towards the furthering of democracy, justice and the rule of law in the country.”
