New leader of opposition in Parliament Betty Aol Ocan has started business with forcing the speaker and leader of government business to suspend plenary.

Ocan demanded to know the whereabouts of Robert Kyagulany (Kyadondo East), Francis Zaake (Mityana) and others.

The Gulu Woman MP demanded to know from the Speaker Rebecca Kadaga where opposition MPs arrested in Arua were being held.

Attempts by leader of government business in the house Gen. Moses Ali to buy off time went into deaf ears, forcing the speaker to allow the house to go for forty minute’s break.

Moses Ali had no option but to agree to suspension of the house.

MPs in the house demanded the MPs to be detained at police not a military facility.

MP Olanya Gilbert brought attention of the house to Mityana legislator Zaake’s picture circulating on social media showing him with blood flowing in his hands and swollen eyes.

Olanya said: “The MPs are being tortured. According to what I saw in Arua, the generation is being killed.”

Ochen Julius said: “No discussing business as usual when MPs are missing. A picture of Hon. Zaake was seen lying somewhere like dead people. It’s the speaker to push on this. The opposition are not willing to proceed when this is happening.”
