Police tell Emma Serugo, the promoter of HEBobiwine‘s KYALENGA concert, not to go on with the show
Self proclaimed Ghetto president, gladiator and singer Bobi Wine whose real name is Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu has been urged by police to call off his Kyarenga album launch slated for this weekend.
In a letter dated October 16, AIGP Asuman Mugyenyi the Police Director in charge of operations on behalf of IGP said that the concert will not be possible to take place this year.
“The management of Mandela National stadium has availed us with a matrix of events they plan to host from September 2018 to January 2019 but does not include Kyarenga show,” reads part of the letter.
He added that: “You are therefore advised to call off the music show since you have not made any arrangements with the management of Mandela National stadium to have the show on 20th October.”
The letter has an attached program which shows a series of events lined up, including; weddings, a game of Uganda Cranes Vs Tanzania, corporate games, among others.
Yesterday, Bobi Wine expressed frustration towards his Kyarenga concert by security forces, saying that despite trying all legal procedure, it is evident that the people in authority are doing everything possible to frustrate it.
Bobi Wine blames the police for not being inconsistent and transparent as they have tossed his event organizers for three weeks now despite clearly stating their intentions for the concert early enough.
