Government has hailed UPDF for bringing to book the senseless suspects that brutalized a Democratic Party member Yusuf Kawooya in broad day light near Christ The King Church in Kampala.

Video emerged of the brutal beating and dragging of Yusuf by the suspects with the watchful eyes of the public in the course of the week and shared on social media which attracted the attention of human rights activists who demanded explanation from government.

Spokesman to the cabinet and minister of ICT Frank Tumwebaze hailed the UPDF for the speedy manner in which they handled the matter. The army confirmed arraigning the five suspects before Court Martial and charged them.

The minister claimed the suspects’ actions are aimed at tainting the image of the ruling government.
