Yusuf Kawooya, the man who brutally clobbered and arrested by armed security men in broad day light on Colville Street in the city centre on Thursday last week, has been released from custody. However, just after Kawooya was set free, he was again rushed to hospital for treatment.
Nakawa division MP, Micheal Kabziguruka posted on his Facebook page that he had secured the release of Yusuf Kawooya on police bond. His release comes at after his lawyers led by Kenneth Paul Kakande demanded government to immediately produce him before court if he has any case to answer.
A section of MPs also called upon Government to come out and apologize to the country on the matter.
Besides Democratic Party, the camp where Kawooya is a member has also threatened to protest claiming UPDF produced ‘fake’ tormentors at the weekend before the Unit Disciplinary Committee (UDC) sitting at the CMI headquarters in Mbuya.

Daniel Senkungu, Moses Rwamwenge, one only identified as Omara and two others were reported to have appeared before and pleaded guilty to charges of conduct prejudicial to good order and discipline.
