An 86 year old man has thrown residents of Kihani 1 Kikyenkye Sub-County in Ibanda district in awe by spending 700,000=to construct his grave ,in preparation for his death.
Andereya Ahakukiriire argues that he took the decision , following endless land wrangles between him and his son, noting that he ought to prepare for his death at any moment since he has been battling with his biological son,for over 40 .
Mzee Andereya accuses his son, Gerald Mugume alias Brown of trying to grab his land.
According to Mzee Andereya, in 1975, he applied for a land title from Mbarara District Local Government, but he has never received it since then , attributing the failure and delay to his son Mugume who he claims has been conniving with Government officials to grab his land.
He added that since he is now approaching advanced age, there is need for him to acquire the title for his land as other reports indicate that Mugume, without his knowledge , also acquired a land title that he fears would cause bloodshed after his death.
The area Chairperson , Deogratius Asiimwe confirmed that Andereya appealed to the authorities to intervene so that the land belongs to the entire family not only in the hands of Mugume.
