The opposition Forum for Democratic change has laughed at the latest move by government to fight corruption, after cabinet recently approved the zero tolerance to corruption policy 2018.

While delivering cabinet decisions at the media centre On Tuesday, government spokesperson Ofwono Opondo said the newly approved policy aims at firmly renewing Government’s commitment to fight corruption by strengthening synergies, collaboration and coordination amongst all stakeholders, for effective implementation of anti-corruption measures.

Opondo added that Cabinet approved the proposal to borrow USD87.5 and accepted a Grant of USD 62.5 from the International Development Association (IDA) of the World Bank Group as additional funding for the Development Response to Displacement Impacts Project (DRDIP).

However, the FDC deputy secretary General, Harold Kaija says no law in the current regime can fight corruption since most of its leaders are corrupt. According to Kaija,  corruption can only be wiped out if the country gets a new set of leaders.

However, the state minister for ethics and integrity ,Fr Simon Lokodo  said with more funding to anti-corruption agencies, the vice will be fully eradicated.
