Six Uganda Peoples’ Defense Forces (UPDF) soldiers have been injured in accident along Masaka – Kampala highway.

The accident occurred at Kabale -Bugonzi in Bukulula Sub County in Kalungu district on Monday when a double cabin vehicle registration number BO4BF 116, in which the soldiers were travelling in lost control and veered off the road overturning several times.

The soldiers were traveling to Kampala from Makenke Barracks in Mbarara.

They include Corporal Aluma Byajo, Private Asega Bernard, Okumu Twaha Samuel, Joseph Odul, Gaadi Esati and Corporal John Echuru all attached to Makenke Army barracks.

Latif Zaake, the Southern Region Police Commander says that soldiers sustained injuries and are admitted at Masaka Regional Referral hospital.

He also says that police is investigating the cause of the accident. .
