MPs across the board hailed Speaker Rebecca Kadaga for standing up with defend Uganda’s position on homosexuality at the 139th IPU Parliament summit.
MP Nsaba Buturo State Minister for Ethics and Integrity, moved a motion for a resolution of Parliament to commend the Kadaga for consistently upholding and protecting Uganda’s cultural values during the 139th @IPUparliament Assembly which took place in Geneva.

Buturo’s motion to praise the Speaker partly read: “We appeal to members of the @IPUparliament and the international community to respect cultural values and aspirations of each member state.”

The Bufumbira East MP said: “It should be resolved that Parliament urges government to identify and deal firmly with NGOs which serve as the main conduit for dissemination and promotion of homosexuality and other decadent practices in Uganda.”

Buturo assured: “We urge all Ugandans to wholly remain firm in defense of our values and opposition to foreign sexual practices such as homosexuality.”
Oyam woman MP Santa Alum seconded the motion to congratulate the Speaker on her position against homosexuality.
