Pastor Aloysius Bugingo of the Makerere based House of Prayer International (HPI) has apologized to the public for acting irresponsibly by washing his dirty linen in public (attacking his family publically).
Last week, Pr. Bugingo shocked followers when he said that his wife, Teddy Naluswa Bugingo and his elder daughter are in a move to steal church land.
However, his wife, in an interview with media, denied the accusation saying that her husband has for long tried to wreck their 29-year-old marriage and replacing her with another younger woman. She added that her husband went as far as threatening that if she denies him a divorce, he would tarnish her name in all ways possible.
“My husband has for long been asking me for divorce without any genuine reason,” said Ms. Teddy.
Having possibly reflected back and thought of his image, being put at stake, as well, On Sunday, May 5 Pr. Bugingo said his actions over the past week didn’t reflect the values of the (foster) family in which he grew up ,admitting that there was domestic violence, which was never discussed publicly.
“I grew up in a family of married people. My father and mother too were married,” he said.
“In such pastoral families, they usually had old sticks, which they kept not for rearing cows, but to take care of children and wives.”
“Therefore, for my foster family and my parents, both of which families I respect a lot; I will decide to respect my family as well,” he promised.
Pr. Bugingo added that “I want to apologize to the nation. God raised me from the dunghill. He who brought my name from there, I will not do anything that will tarnish the name he gave me.”
“I also apologize to the men and women who are tuning in and those who are here, who suffered through last week having to hear my name over and over.”
Pr. Bugingo said for the sake of his both born and unborn children, he’ll not do or say anything that will hurt them in future.
“I have kids, some of them unknown to you, and I am still producing more. And to all those children, in school or unborn, I want to assure you that if I was able to be silent for all those years, from today, I will not say another word that will hurt the future of my own children, my future in-laws, and my grandchildren.”
It’s rumoured that Pr. Bugingo has also built a multi-million mansion for his alleged new wife Susan Makula Nantaba who happens to be one of his workers.
The yet to be completed mammoth storied house sits on 10 acres of land and it’s situated in Nakedde village, Namayumba sub-county, Wakiso District.

“One is better off leaving a house without peace. I can assure you that wherever you will go, you can always build another one,” Pr. Bugingo recently told his followers in a televised church session.
