
Former army commander, Maj Gen Mugisha Muntu, has blasted youth in Uganda for getting excited whenever president Yoweri Museveni moves with sacks of money.
Delivering his speech at the official launch of his Alliance for National Transformation (ANT) party at Serena Conference Centre in Kampala, Muntu noted that Ugandans, mainly the youth need to be taught how to work, instead of hoodwinking them with already made money. He also challenged Ugandans to focus on mindset change in order for the country to develop and be steered to greater heights politically.

The colorful launch featured a youthful Tanzanian MP from CHADEMA opposition party, Upendo Furaha Peneza, as the keynote speaker who urged politicians to nourish the peace and safety Uganda is currently enjoying much as they are dying for change;
“Yes, we want change but we also want Uganda safe. Push and work for change but also make sure Uganda is safe,” Peneza said.
FDC party officials turned up dressed in purple. Also in attendance were: political party leaders that included DP president Nobert Mao; Former leader of opposition in Parliament; Winnie Kizza , CSO leaders, religious leaders, academia, youth leaders; women leaders, diplomats and Alliance party promoters.


The official party colors are PURPLE which is symbolic of peace, wisdom, quality and devotion to party and country; ORANGE for determination, and creativity, youthfulness and optimism to bring about transformation and RED for brotherhood, love and unity of all Ugandans.

Muntu promised that within one year, Ugandans will have seen the good will of the new party. He also called on leaders to spend a lot of time on the issue of mind set change , adding that there are no quick fixes to the development of a country.
Meanwhile, Alice Alaso , the ANT Party chief mobilize says they are embarking on a journey to build a political environment which supports internal democracy, gender equity, champions good governance and also encourages us to be loyal to this country .
