MESUT OZIL forgot to smile posing for photographs as he married stunning Amine Gulse.
The German’s glum expression mirrored what many Arsenal fans have seen this season after a frustrating time of it on the pitch.
The 30-year-old married Gulse in the Turkish capital of Istanbul, and held their reception at the Four Seasons hotel.
Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his wife Emine were witnesses during the ceremony.
Ozil was slammed by German Chancellor Angela Merkel’s chief of staff for inviting the controversial Erdogan along.
Helga Braun accepted the decision of Ozil and Gulse was of a “private” nature, but suggested the “role model” was setting a bad example.
Erdogan‘s government has been criticised heavily by Germany, who are at odds over a range of human rights issues.
And Ozil was caught up in a political storm after being pictured with Erdogan in London last May – just weeks before Germany’s horrendous World Cup campaign.
Ozil looked stone-faced at the ceremony, before the new man and wife headed off to the party.
But he made sure the stern look cracked a bit as he danced alongside men banging huge drums after saying “I do”.
Arsenal team-mate Sead Kolasinac was also at Ozil’s special day along with his partner.
Ozil looked a lot happier in the pre-wedding bash the night before.
The Arsenal star and the brunette beauty shared a number of videos and images of the party in the Turkish capital.
