How man was stabbed multiple times on the heart area to death in Kampala hotel

Police have arrested, Irene Opio Akello, on allegations of brutally killing her lover in a hotel in Ntinda.

Deputy Kampala Metropolitan police spokesman, Luke Owoyesigyire, said a call was received from Top Five hotel management about Alex Oluta suspected to been killed by his lover.

Police in Ntinda arrived at the scene in wee hours of Sunday morning and found Oluta lying in a pool of blood.

“At around midnight, police received a call from one Joel Kedi, 35, an executive member one LC1 council for Village 1 in Ntinda that there was an incident at Top Five hotel and that an identified woman had stubbed a man in hotel room 206 second floor,”Owoyesigyire said.

Owoyesigyire added that the deceased had multiple stabs in the chest and there were signs of struggle. Inside the room, property was littered all over the floor.

“Lying in the pool of blood, the body had multiple knife stab wounds in chest area where all the property in the hotel room was scattered a sign that there was a scuffle before Otula was stabbed.”

Police discovered food and alcohol suspected to have been eaten by Akello and Oluta before the fight ensued between the duo.

According to Owoyesigyire, further investigation led detectives to a knife which was full of blood dumped in a flower vessel near the room’s door.

“Statements were recorded from staff of the hotel who included the acting manager and the caretaker who gave useful leads to investigators,”Owoyesigyire said.

Owoyesigyire said two hotel staff identified as Ronald Sasij and Finmond Gibremech of Eritrean origin were also arrested to help in investigations.

Police added that Akello who hails from Lamwo district has since admitted killing Oluta by stabbing him from behind ,but the actual reason is still unknown.

It is, however ,said that the 24 year old monster lover said she had killed Otula by accident.

“We mounted an operation and followed her up until she was finally arrested.” Owoyesigire said

“The body was taken to the city mortuary for a postmortem as investigations into the motive of the killer are still ongoing,” he said.
