Police has netted over Twenty suspected members of a criminal gang dubbed “Dog Tulumbe” that has been wreaking havoc in Nansana Municipality and parts of Northern Kampala.
The gang is mainly composed of minors between nine and 16 years of age.

Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson, Patrick Onyango acknowledges that the suspected gang members were netted yesterday in a police operation in Namungoona, Lubigi area and Nansana Municipality.

He says few of the suspects are adults who are believed to lure the minors into crime. They don white or black tracksuits and always operate in groups of five to seven targeting people with money and other valuables along the Northern by-pass covering the Bwaise-Namungoona-stretch, Hoima Road, Nabweru-Bwaise areas and other suburbs in Nansana Municipality.

“Dog Tulumbe”, which is loosely translated “Dog Lets Attack”, isn’t the first such criminal gang to terrorize Greater Kampala.

A number of criminals have previously operated in various parts of Kampala and its neighborhood. They include among others; the famous Kifeesi, which was operating in Kampala and Mukono with bases in Katwe-Kinyoro.
