Students of Namirembe Hillside High School in Kitetika, Gayaza, are counting losses after a fire gutted a boys’ dormitory, destroying property worth millions of shillings.

The cause of the fire -that is believed to have started this morning, at 10:40 am – is yet to be established.

Smoke could be seen oozing out of the building as the fire gutted the whole roof. No casualties were recorded by press time and the school administration is yet to comment on the incident.

Luke Owoyesigire, Kampala Metropolitan deputy police spokesperson confirms that a team from the police fire brigade managed to put out the fire;
