Manchester United have identified England stars Jadon Sancho and James Maddison as their No 1 transfer targets for next summer.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has made his intentions clear of continuing his recruitment policy of signing young homegrown players.

Contingency plans have already been drawn up for next summer and according to ESPN, Borussia Dortmund star Sancho is top of their list alongside Leicester midfielder Maddison.

United splashed out nearly £150million to bring Harry Maguire, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Daniel James to Old Trafford, but Solskjaer has highlighted a need to bolster his attacking ranks following the departures of Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez to Inter Milan.

United had expressed initial interest in Sancho last winter and have not been put off pursuing the 19-year-old despite him signing a contract extension at Dortmund just last month.

Solskjaer got to take a closer look at Maddison after his United side claimed a narrow 1-0 victory over Leicester at the weekend.
