FDC iron lady Ingrid Turinawe Wednesday fought for her life after she was teargassed by police at the party headquarters at Najjanankumbi in Kampala.

Ingrid and her famale party colleagues were protesting police brutality towards their leaders and disrupting their seminar at Mandela National Staidum in Namboole.

The protests come shortly after Dr Kizza Besigye was brutally teargassed on Monday as he tried to find his way to Mandela National Stadium in Namboole for the party seminar.

Ingrid the FDC womens’ league leader was filmed with colleagues at the party headquarters exchanging with Katwe Police Divisional Commander for blocking them from organising to deliver a petition to the speaker of parliament Rebecca Kadaga.

Shortly the fierce party leader was seen going to the ground after police fired teargas according to party President Patrick Oboi Amuriat. Videos captured by this reporter showed her angry party members shouting as they applied first aid to help Ingrid regain stability.

The FDC women demanded the police allow their leaders to access their offices after Amuriat and leader of opposition in Parliament Betty Aol Ochan had been stopped at the gate.

Police were forced to teargas the rowdy group and arrest four members. The group was seen trying to help out Ingrid who they claim collapsed after being teargassed.

The scuffle at the party headquarters took about five hours to quell.
