Uganda Revenue Authority Football Club managed to grind out a 1-0 victory against second placed team from bottom side Police Fc, at the FUFA Technical Center, Njeru but coach Sam Ssimbwa accepts they were second best to Police fc in a statement that said, “The better team lost, though happy with the three points. ”

The revenue collectors scored the decisive goal in the 15th minute of half time, left winger Brian Majwega breaking the deadlock, as he scored in consecutive games to take his tally to three goals this season.

“Iam happy we got a win, but to be sincere Police was the better side and deserved to win as they played better than us.” Ssimbwa explains to the Galaxy fm website.

The Cops laboured as much to find a way back into the game, but URA custodian James Alitho who was also the man of the match in the game stood tall to thwart all threats.

At the resumption of the second half, Ssimbwa brought on former Police midfielder Hassan Kalega and Moses Sseruyide as he tried to give his side an edge especially in the middle of the park.

But the changes were not as effective as Abdallah Mubiru’s charges kept on going at their visitors with attacks after another, but still they could not find a way past Alitho.

Police fc skipper Hood Kaweesa, Pius Kaggwa and Ben Oven all came close to draw the Cops level, but they could only come as close.

Alitho who was making his first start for the club since he was disappointingly subbed off against Onduparaka, was named man of the match, expressed his desire to be recognized with the accolade.

“Iam happy as a player for the great game, in particular for the win because it is what really matters for us as a team, and we hope it boosts us ahead of our upcoming games,” Alitho said after th game.

The result took URA to 8th on the table with 14 points from 10 games while Police remained in the 15th place on five points from 11 encounters.

URA Fc return to action on Friday 8th when they play host to Express Fc while Police who have lost five games and won once in their last six matches will visit KCCA Fc on Saturday 9th at the Startimes Stadium in another tricky tie.
