The Uganda Airlines will Monday, November 11, 2019, make a maiden flight to Mombasa, Kenya.

The new route according to Uganda Tourism Board (UTB) CEO, Lilly Ajarova, is a move by UTB aimed at marketing Uganda.

She notes that the direct flights between the Mombasa city and Entebbe will boost tourism and trade between Kenya and Uganda.

Uganda airlines in October unveiled two more new Bombardier CRJ 900 aircraft at Entebbe International Airport.

This brings to four the total number of Bombardiers that Uganda Airlines will have for its regional services.

The airline will now cover more destinations in Southern and Central Africa, having launched to Nairobi, Dar Es Salaam, Mogadishu, Bujumbura, Juba, and others.

During the 75th international aviation organizations ICAO celebrations at Jinja on Saturday, Dr. David Kakuba, the Director-General Uganda Civil Aviation Authority (UCAA),  criticized Ugandans who use social media to denounce the national airlines.

He added that Ugandans should desist from the habit of being non-developmental and have a heart for their country.

I assure you when we get to receive two Airbuses in2020, our tourism industry, and the potential to attract tourists will not stay the same. He said.

Uganda will get two Airbuses A330 next year. They will fly to countries like England, China, India and among others, which will enable us to compete internationally like in two to three years to come,” Mr. Kakuba said.

Uganda has registered a growing demand for tourists as a vacation destination as a result of the beautiful national parks, wildlife and beach resorts.
