Gormahia defender Shafiq Batambuze has undergone a successful surgery, the club has confirmed.

The Ugandan defender has been out of action since their match against Aigle Noir I’m the CAF Champions League preliminary round in August.

The player injured himself last season in their CAF Confederations Cup quarter final clash against Morocco’s RS Berkane and aggravated it when they returned for league action against Bandari Fc.

“I sat out for sometime, healed again and came back this season when we were up against Aigle Noir at Kasarani after playing in the first leg against the same opponents without any problems. It was becoming too much and decided to go for an MRI scan at which they decided that i needed surgery”. Batambuze narrates.

The player has been seeking help from friends and fans after admitting that Gormahia was finding it hard to cater for his surgery off the withdrawal of their main sponsors.
