More than 30 police officers have pitched camp at Nakabago the home of Mukono Municipality Legislator Betty Nambooze.
Nambooze had planned to solicit for signatures in a meeting organized for residents of Mukono this morning at Kame Valley Market.
The signatures are for a petition to drag President Museveni to the International Criminal Court-ICC.
However, police led by the Mukono Crime Investigative -CID department boss Catherine Tesima stopped the organizers from erecting the tents and have since blocked Nambooze from moving out.
Tesima says Nambooze did not seek permission from Police to organize the meeting. Allan Mawanda the lead organizer has vowed to go ahead with the event.
Two weeks ago, the People’s Government launched a petition aimed at asking the prosecutor at the ICC, Justice Fatou Bensouda, to prosecute President Museveni and his implicated officials on crimes against humanity.
