The draws for the first ever CECAFA U-17 women’s championship to be hosted by Uganda were held on Sunday 24th November 2019.

The on-form Uganda U-17 girls team that has just lifted the inaugural COSAFA U-17 championships following a 2-1 win against SouthAfrica on the final, was put in group A with Ethiopia, Eritrea and South Sudan.

The CECAFA U-17 championship has attracted seven member nations and were drawn in two groups, A and B and will be played between 9th and 18th December 2019.

A former Queens Park Rangers player who acts as th CECAFA senior women’s championship cordinator said, Buikwe district will be the host district at Njeru Technical Centre in particular.

The team shall be headed by Kawempe Moslem coach Ayub Khalifa who recently won the COSAFA championship.

Group A: Uganda, Ethiopia, Eritrea, South Sudan.

Group B: Tanzania, Burundi, Djibouti.
