The Competitions Disciplinary Panel headed by Deo Mutabani write a letter to Maroons football club to submit in their defends after the club fielded an ineligible player in the names of Hannington Sebwalunyo.

The goalkeeper is alleged to have accumulated three yellow cards prior to the Vipers game after accumulating yellow cards against Kyetume fc, Express fc and Proline fc.

However, sources in the club believe the player had already sat out the game before playing against Vipers in their last game at home.

Douglas Bamweyana via his facebook post stated that the player had been cautioned against Kyetume fc, Brightstars fc, Express fc and he sat out the game against Busoga United before facing Vipers.

The disciplinary panel cites article 29(9) of the FUFA competition rules which states that; a player who accumulates three bookings in a league or mixed format competition shall automatically become eligible for the next game.

According to the views of different parties, it is most likely the Maroons fc technical staff got wrong records of the player’s discipline on the pitch and could be sanctioned over misunderstanding the football rules.
