A furious mob of students from Makerere College of Business and Computer Studies Rukungiri campus has killed a former student after accusing him of stealing their clothes.

23-year-old Crescent Ahereza, a resident of Rwamunyinya village in Masya parish Nyakagyeme Sub County in Rukungiri district had recently finalized his UBTEB exams in mechanics and driving on November 29.

Ahereza met his cruel death when he was nabbed unawares stealing clothes in the male student’s hostel on Sunday night.

In the process of beating and inquiring a panicking Ahereza was forced to reveal one Kenneth Niwenyesiga as his partner in crime who was also tortured and beaten.

The Kigezi Region Police spokesperson, Elly Maate says the college Director; Rev. Ronald Natuhwera reported a case of theft against the duo on Monday morning but implored to rush Ahereza for treatment as his condition was appalling.

He was rushed to Rukungiri Health Centre IV where he was pronounced dead on Monday evening his body awaits a post-mortem.

Maate says as police they condemn the acts of mob justice and will apprehend whoever was involved so that justice is fulfilled.
Maate says they have so far apprehended one student who commanded his colleagues to hit the suspects.
