Police in Kampala have apprehended two gangsters from on charges of obtaining money by false pretense.

Moses Kigozi and his colleague, were intercepted at Kibuye, a suburb in Kampala City,

The arrest follows a complaint by a victim at Kireka Police Station.

According to Police ,the victim claims he was duped in September after he received an anonymous phone call from a purported business man who wanted to sell to him goods worth 2 million shillings.

Without suspecting a thing he sent the money on the Mobile money number only to call the phone moments later and find it switched off.

He immediately alerted police authorities who started a manhunt .

Police searched Kigozi’s  home and recovered fake currency notes, over 100 sim cards, and other documents.

“It has also been established that the group has been calling the unsuspecting public giving them false information alleging they have won lotteries and goods, when they receive the money, they don’t deliver the goods.”

The suspects are currently detained at Kira Division Police Station.
